Less impact = more gain for Earth

As you know, I post and share many stories about the environment and some of the innovative applications that support its conservation. I’m as enthusiastic about recycling and try to recycle or reuse most things that I use or wear.

As a member of the Eco Community, I’ve made a commitment to promoting conservation and by recycling where I can, I am helping to reduce landfill each year.

I’ve found it a quite simple process to follow, collecting glass and plastic items, clothes, spent batteries, cardboard from storage boxes, metal from furniture or kitchen ware, styrofoam from packaging, green waste from the garden, hard plastic, old wiring, electrical equipment and computers. I have diligently collected and delivered all of these items to the recycling section at the Resource Recovery Centre where I think I am becoming quite a familiar face.

I feel a great sense of achievement when I have nothing left in the car for the waste section, which goes to landfill. The other day I contributed a lot of items and know that I’m reducing my carbon footprint in a big way by making this practice part of my everyday routine professionally and personally.

I also find myself collecting bits of old net, fishing tackle or plastic rubbish that I find whenever I go for a walk or film videos and place them into a bin, far away from curious sea creatures and birds.

I’m doing something that is making a difference to the health of the environment and if you start following the same routine then there’ll be less landfill to worry about in future.

I follow other businesses who have joined the Eco Community and it’s fascinating to learn how they are making a significant contribution to improving the health of our planet Earth.
